Do you ever feel all alone? Like no one is listening? Like no one cares?

What if the answers to all your questions are staring you right in the face?
What if the answers are in a language you have forgotten? The language of nature and symbolism.

During my recent tour of The Boston Public Library the docent mentioned that several sculptures used symbols to explain what represented. People long ago would have easily understood the language of the sculptures. She went on to say that we have long forgotten these symbols and their meanings. Of course our group could guess the easy ones like paint brushes to represent art, but the others were just too hard. We had forgotten as a society what would have been common knowledge to people 100 years ago. That led me to wonder what else we had forgotten.

Did you know flowers have special meanings? People years ago knew their meanings.
Did you know animals have special significance? Again people years ago understood their meanings.

Maybe Nature is trying to get a message to you in the only language it is able to speak. So it is up to us to learn the language if we want to understand the answers to our most private and personal questions.

How do we do this, you ask? Start by looking around where ever you are, it doesn’t matter if you are inside or outside. Once you begin to notice your surroundings you will be amazed at what you had never noticed. So you see a tree. What is the name of the tree? Look at a leaf. You can get a book at the library or do a search on line and find the species of the tree. Then discover the meaning of the tree. Think about it. Ask yourself how is this relevant to your present situation? What about a chipmunk sitting and looking at you? What could he be trying to tell you?

In the past year I have begun to notice heart rocks. Yes, you heard correctly, rocks that are shaped like hearts. They exist in nature. Or rocks with white circles on them. They are everywhere. How wonderful is that?!

Stop. Look. Listen. Nature is trying to get a message to you. You just need to re-learn how to hear.
